What are you dreaming of? This is the moon of inspired visions!
Also know as the Full Harvest Moon, this is the moon that provided light for final crops to be harvested before the invention of machinery with portable lighting. The Full Harvest Moon is the harbinger of fall, coming right before the Autumnal Equinox which happens on Monday, September 23rd. When this full moon comes it is truly time to start thinking about the getting the fall season underway. Pumpkin Spice anyone?
During the Full Moon, the sun stands opposite in the sky to the moon. So if you’re out looking at the beautiful moon tonight, you will know that the sun is directly behind you. In the Eastern Time Zone the Full Moon will be visible late on Friday, September 13th, but it actually reaches its fullest peak at 12:35 a.m. EST on Saturday morning. The Sun is in Virgo this month and it is positioned against its opposite, the moon in the sign of Pisces. Pisces is a water sign. Pisces energy is soft, fluid and intuitive. It is represented by the picture of two fish swimming in opposite directions. Let’s learn the characteristics of Pisces and Virgo.

Virgo on the other hand is an earth sign. And it is the detail-oriented organizer. It is represented by the picture of the virgin, the purest of all feminine archetypes. Virgo is nurturing (in an analytical way), loves plants and animals and to serve others.
Virgo energy is that of the:
- Perfectionist
- Serving
- Analytical
- Methodical
- Refined
- Precise
So when these two come together- what does it mean? Picture a camera lens that can move in and out of small detailed focus and then into far away, big picture focus. That’s the energy. The ability to move back and forth between organization/precision and our bigger dreams and ideas. The moon does brings home, family, and close relationships into focus. Both are also mutable signs this month, which means they can change their mind a lot! They are both flexible and can go with the flow. They are also water and earth. When you put earth and water together…they grow things (like flowers). :))

Right now we have 7 planets in the Mutable quality! So lots of adaptability and change is available in the heavens. Are you feeling a little scattered? No worries, it’s just the energy right now. Assisting the mutable, or versatile feeling is the fact that Neptune is standing beside (conjunct) this Full Moon in the sky. Neptune is lending a dreamy, floaty, softly focused quality to the moon. Neptune is about magic, intuition, and fantasies and is also a very sensitive and intuitive energy. It is telling you that you know what you really want, way deep down inside.
So what does all this mean, you ask? When we have this type of mutability we can try on different dreams, see how they fit, and ask ourselves: do we want to go one direction or another? The beauty is that we can change our mind! We CAN start over again. With Virgo’s power to organize and analyze and Pisces’ soft fluid way of intuition and knowing, we have a chance to bring our dreams into reality. Neptune is really showing us our dreamy/idealistic side during this time. Use this energy to really listen to your dreams (both at night during sleep and the dreams that hide in your imagination). With the focus going in and out between the two energies – acknowledge your dreams to yourself. Make a list of what you want in the coming months or years – pray over it, meditate on it, develop an action plan to put it into play! Virgo CAN manifest what Pisces dreams.
